A while back, a put together an extensive list of public domain superheroes (complete with a short breakdown of civilian IDs, affiliations, powers and other notable features) for a project I've been working on and off for the past three years. While looking at it, I couldn't help but notice many similarities in terms of power sets (to the point I started classifying superheroes by power), origins and, most intriguingly, surnames. Since, for the purpose of my project, they all co-existed in the same universe, I wondered if they could be related. I am not saying that they have to be related, but it's a fun thought.
With that in mind, I used Microsoft Word's internal document search function to find superheroes and supporting characters with similar surnames. Some resulting groups were fairly small, while others were comparatively sizable. For your benefit, I arranged them all in an alphabetical order, by surnames.
