Henri, I fully agree that Queen Sophia deserves a good present like this. But they decided even not to celebrate their golden wedding! Whereas the marriage of Julian & Bernhard and Albert & Paola both have improve after severe crisis, this seems not to be the case in Spain. It seems like the marriage is at an all-time-low. Sophia would know that such a jewellery gift would only be meant for the Queen, not for the wife. What she needs more than jewellery is a friendly and loving husband.

: The prize of 7 million dollar is waaaay
: exaggerated and is best to be forgotten. I
: agree with Luke: 1 million is already

: The parure can be purchased however for
: Fifty Golden Years. Despite the problems in
: the marriage (Juliana & Bernhard had,
: Albert & Paola had, etc.) there is a
: milestone. Doña Sofía is not only the King's
: wife, she is also Spain's Queen and a
: Princess of Greece and Denmark. She deserves
: it to get such a nice royal cadeau.
