This story of the Duchess of Cambridge being able to chose from three tiaras, is to me, a complete fallacy. That was dreamed up by the newspapers prior to the Royal Wedding last year; when there was a public appetite for "news", but no new information to write about.
No information was ever released about the jewels; other than on the wedding day itself, when it was simply announced that the Duchess of wearing the Queen Mother's Cartier Halo Tiara.
It seems to be a story that will perpetuate, like Diana choosing her engagement-ring from a tray of rings sent from Garrard; which has since proved to be incorrect.
