You're quite correct, no bows in the earrings - I was referring to the top part of two flowers being kind of tied together, which leads at first glance to a bow-like shape (see below).
In contrast to the tiara as a wreath of blossoms, there's just no convincing idea here how to translate the flower motif into earring shape, IMHO.
