: In 1964 jewellery of Crown Princess Margrethe
: of Denmark were stolen while she was on
: holiday. She was a guest of the Marquess of
: Northampton in his castle. Apparently the
: thiefs broke into her bedroom on the first
: floor while a party was going on downstairs.
: Does anyone have more information on this
: theft?
19 pieces of jewellery were stolen from Princess Margrethe - a.o. a gold bracelet with six charms (some of them acquired during a stay in Egypt); a two-rows pearl necklace (acquired during a journey in the Far East); a pearl bracelet with a diamond lock; seven rings with diamonds, pearls and emeralds; a silver ring with a chalcedony stone (made by jeweller John Rørvig).
