Vincent Meylan's book Boucheron, Archives secrètes
(2009) mentions that, in 1911
, Mrs Greville had brought Boucheron her two emerald necklaces (the large and the small ones, according to Boucheron's ledgers) to have them turned into one single necklace. There is unfortunately no picture of the two dismantled necklaces or of the newly-created one.
As we know with the Greville Honeycomb tiara (frequently worn by the Queen Mother and now by the Duchess of Cornwall), Mrs Greville frequently had her jewels transformed to follow the latest fashion, so we can not be absolutely sure that the necklace created by Boucheron in 1911 is the Greville emerald necklace as we know it today.
