: Welcome to the board and thank you very much
: for this extensive summary of the jewels
: worn by the nieces of King Harald. Would you
: happen to have a link to the photo where we
: can see Benedikte with the brooch? Or even
: to a video. This brooch I believe was a
: wedding present to the then Princess Maud.
: For us that enjoy seeing jewels with this
: kind of history at royal events would
: probably wish that they had stayed with the
: main line. But of course the children of
: Princess Ragnhild and Princess Astrid are
: equally great grandchildren of Queen Maud
: and grandchildren of Crown Princess Märtha
: and as such they are naturally entitled to
: their rightful part of the inheritence. What
: delights me is that these pieces are still
: with the family and in use. And the brooches
: and necklaces are pieces that can easily be
: used outside a royal setting. With the
: tiaras it is a bit different as they have
: very limited use. And it would be a shame if
: they were just kept locked away by the
: family or to be sold and then disappear out
: of sight forever. So hopefully the two major
: tiaras at least will revert back to the main
: line to be used for many many years to come.
: But only time will tell.

: Daughters of princess Astrid and the late
: princess Ragnhild of Norway wore several
: royal jewels at king Harald's & queen
: Sonja's birthday bash on May 9.
: Elisabeth Ferner "the unknown
: lady": the diamond bandeau her
: grandmother princess Martha received as a
: wedding gift from her uncle king Gustav V
: and aunt queen Victoria of Sweden in 1929.
: Crown princess Martha wore it both as a
: bandeau (1939 USA visit) and as a bracelet.
: Princess Astrid was last seen with this
: bandeau in April 2011 at a state visit by
: Lithuania. Not able to identify Elisabeth's
: diamond earrings - does anyone know?
: Benedikte Ferner: the headpiece/necklace and
: the bracelet are from princess Astrid
: (pictured with both at her 25th birthday -
: don't know if they go further back). The
: large round diamond brooch on her jacket
: (not seen in the screenshot posted by Stig)
: are from her great grandmother queen Maud
: and have been worn by both her grandmother
: crown princess Martha and her mother
: princess Astrid. The pearl & diamond
: earrings are from her great grandmother
: princess Ingeborg of Sweden, also previously
: worn by Martha and Astrid.
: Carl-Christian Ferner's wife: she was
: wearing a large sparkeling choker. It might
: very well be from queen Maud but unable to
: identify. Does anyone have a screenshot?
: Ingeborg Lorentzen Ribeiro: unable to
: identify the headpiece but the large spiked
: diamond brooch (screenshot posted by Torkel)
: is from her great grandmother queen Maud. An
: historic piece because Maud wore it as a
: second brooch on her coronation dress in
: 1906 (actually below the same diamond bow
: brooch princess Astrid wore this evening).
: Princess Ragnhild wore the diamond spiked
: brooch in June 1980 at a state visit by
: Portugal. The long pearl & diamond
: earrings are from her great grandmother
: princess Ingeborg.
: Did anyone spot Cathrine Ferner Johansen or
: Ragnhild Lorentzen Long at the birthday
: dinner? Several tiaras/headpieces were
: spotted on many non-royal guests...
: Martha Lorentzen (wife of Ragnhild's son
: Haakon) wore earrings but don't know if it
: is royal jewelry . Didn't spot Alexander
: Ferner & wife.
: It's been claimed by "court
: reporters" in Norway that all jewels
: from queen Maud eventually will return to
: the royal Norwegian family. This can't be
: true since a new generation of both Ferners
: and Lorentzens are wearing Maud's jewelry.
: These, and many other royal jewels from
: Maud, Martha, Ingeborg etc. will therefore
: most likely never return to the royal
: Norwegian family. Let's hope the "major
: tiaras" are an exception but that still
: remains too be seen!
: I'm new on this board and don't know how to
: post pictures but below are links to some of
: the royal jewels.
