I allow me to contact you concerning the hypothetical found of the origin of the double greek key tiara (I am not potentially at the origin of this discover).
Further to a correspondance with a friend, we have discovered that Mrs Greville was in the box above the royal family at the 1937 coronation.
We suppose, from the photo we have in our files that she was wearing her wide diamond bandeau.
We also suppose that she was wearing the double greek key tiara owned by QEQM and described as a bandeau by Suzy Menkes.
Therefore, we have tried to enlarge the photo to try to recognize the tiara she was wearing.
Further to our works, we do think that we can recognize the tiara worn by Princess Ann.
Please find below the reasons :
- we can recognize the shape of the tiara (not the same as the boucheron tiara at the sides as the tiara worn by QEQM);
- we can recognize the double greek key design (when the photo was enlarged) ;
- we can also imagine the two large diamond drops which can be seen below/ the feathers ;
Please find below photos of the coronation and the tiara :
What do you think about this ?
Have you got more photos in your files to confirm our ?
