Thanks for sharing that, Arthur. Ever since that photo of the current duchess resurfaced a while back, I have been pondering if the necklace could be a match to this one:
This is a detail from a photograph dated June 30, 1911 showing the Royal Family arriving at the Children's Coronation Fete which was part of the Festival of Empire Exhibition at the Crystal Palace. When I first posted this photo several years ago, some of us thought it was perhaps part of the dress's embellishment. However, now I'm inclined to think it could be the Gloucester necklace (or some version of it.) Unlike Queen Mary's later years, during this era it was not unusual to see HM wearing gemstone and diamond necklaces at events held during the day.
