The celebration of Queen Margrethe's golden jubilee - which drowned in the coverage of Queen Elizabeth's death - was a rare chance for many members of the Danish nobility to sport their finest jewellery. The Queen's godchild Désirée of Rosenborg thus wore most pieces from the gold and lava parure which once belonged to her gr-gr-gr-gr-grandmother and namesake Queen Désirée of Sweden.
