What a beautiful brooch and it's tucked away in a vault, not to be seen. Thank you Boffer.

: So sad she has never worn this beautiful
: emerald and diamond brooch ! Queen Elizabeth
: II seems to have no particular affection for
: emerald..as a matter of fact she has worn
: only four differents emerald and diamonds
    : brooches.

: Evidence that, in the royal family's
: collection, there are still countless small
: trinkets like this small brooch, which have
: great historical provenance, yet sadly
: because of the sheer amount that they own,
: never get worn or seen.

: "In June 1838, soon after her
: coronation, Queen Victoria received a
: star-shaped brooch of emeralds and diamonds
: from Sultan Mahmud II. In the centre of the
: brooch is the Sultan’s tughra in brilliant
: cut diamonds. The tughra is the Sultan’s
: personal calligraphic monogram which was
: affixed to all official documents,
: correspondence, coins and seals. The tughra
: of Mahmud II reads: ‘Mahmud Khan son of
    : Abdülhamid is forever victorious’."
