Queen Ena (other) emeralds Archived Message

The Torlonia sisters (I cannot remember wich lady) also have some fabulous emeralds from Queen Ena. Sometime ago I remember seeing a picture of one of the sisters wearing the big emerald brooch from Queen Ena. The stones are really huge, the brooch resembles the emerald one wore by Princess Lilian. I am not shure but I beleive there are also emerald earrings matching.

Queen Ena chose to give the majority of her jewels, specially the ones with coloured precious stones, to her daughters and their descent. The most important diamond jewelry remained in the main line and are called "las joyas de pasar", meaning they are the jewels to be passed along to future queens of Spain. These include the riviére necklaces, the wonderful Ansorena Fleur-de-Lys Tiara, the big diamond bracelets once a wedding gift small diamond crown, and some diamond and pearl brooches.

Altought those were the Queen's wishes I really think it's a pity that Queen Sofia has only a small emerald set (she wore it on the Prince of Asturias wedding), compared to the regal huge emeralds owned by her husband's cousins... These and the impressive aquamarine parure would look absolutely wonderful on Her Majesty.
