I was looking for something else in the Library of Congress collection when I came across this newspaper article.

SOURCE: "New York Tribune" dated Oct. 9, 1921.

    Summary of this newspaper article...........

**William B. Leeds, Jr., the son of Princess Anastasia of Greece and the late William B. Leeds, had married Princess Xenia, niece of King Constantine (I) of Greece in a civil ceremony at 4:00 p.m. in Paris, France.

**Princess Xenia was the second daughter of Grand Duke Mikhailovitch of Russia and his wife, Princess Marie Georgievna of Greece. This Princess Marie in turn was the sister of King Constantine of Greece.

**Both the groom and bride were 19 years old at the time of their marriage.

**The next day after their civil ceremony, the couple was to be married in two more ceremonies. One of which was to be performed at the American Church of the Holy Trinity in New York City and the second one took place at the Russian church.

**Only close relatives of the couple, along with the Mayor of the First District, attended the civil ceremony.

**The Grand Duke Dimitri Pavlevitch of Russia (a cousin) was Princess Xenia's witness while her new husband's witness was Prince Christopher of Greece.

**The other close relatives at the wedding were Xenia's mother, Princess Nina, and sister, Princess Marie of Greece. Princess Xenia wore a yellow crepe dress with a cape of the same material along with a brown toque (sp?) and a large feather of the similar shade. She wore the shoes and stockings of the same color.

**The bridegroom's mother who was covered in gray clothes attended the wedding.

**NOW ON TO THEIR WEDDING PRESENTS:

    (1) a diamond and ruby pendant with a crown on which there are the initals of "G.M." (given by Britain's King George V and Queen Mary).

    (2) an amethyst and diamond bracelet (given by Britain's Queen Mother Alexandra) [side note: wondering if that bracelet was once a part of Alexandra's amethyst and diamond parure, such as a tiara and others??].

    (3) a fan (given by Britain's Princess Mary).

    (4) a sapphire ring (given by Romania's Crown Prince and Crown Princess).

    (5) a diamond and ruby tiara (given by Prince and Princess Christopher of Greece).

    (6) a gold pendant watch set in sapphires (given by Prince and Princess George of Greece).

    (7) a diamond leaf brooch with a large ruby (given by Greece's Queen Mother Olga).

    (8) a blue enameled cross with pearls (given by Russia's Grand Duchess Anastasia).

    (9) a diamond and sapphire bracelet (given by the bridegroom's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Warner Leeds of New York).

    (10) a gold bag studded with sapphires and diamonds (given by Henderson Green of New York).

    The End.
