Why 2 bar brooches ? My guess is that the 14 stone bar brooch was made for Queen Mary. Note that is only a guess. See her wearing it here. My reasoning is that Queen Alexandra probably hung on to Queen Victoria's to wear herself so poor Queen Mary had to rummage in her trinket boxes and make do with second best !!
