I have often surmised that Queen Mary wore an older fringe tiara before she had her own one made - and I have included that supposition (guesswork) in my Queen Mary panels.
So far nobody has produced any evidence for or against it.
I really do hope that the existence or not of an older fringe tiara will be cleared up once and for all with the diamond exhibition. Then of course if there still is an older one we might learn whether or not it includes any diamonds from George III.
Edit: Josefine - I'm sorry you deleted the poll so quickly. Perhaps there will be some discussion - and some fringe pics.
