The necklace and pendant were bought by Queen Marie from Cartier after WWI (her jewels had been sent to the Kremlin for "safekeeping") and she wore it at her Coronation. Queen Anne of Romania wore the chain on her wedding day but not the sapphire pendant (there was a smaller pendant attached). Then Queen Fredericka ended up with it later.
