Karen on the Scandanavian Message Boards very kindly directed me to this book. I find her interesting. And better understand that perhaps she was a woman out of her times.
I find that many of her portraits as a young woman show her wearing a tiara/diadem. The earliest portrait is by an unknown artist when she was 5 years old. I am sorry if I offend but she was quite homely in this portrait. The tiara/crown is quite apparent. I wonder if it is to indicate her status as queen and was there a specific small crown she wore for portraits? Is it extant?
