Baxter, I think that the tiara owned by princess Alice could be one of the two tiaras owned by Queen Elizabeth II. I share your feeling.

The other one can be inherited from Queen Mary. As a matter of fact, Menkes say that Queen Elizabeth has inherited two tiaras from Empress Maria.'the other one could be the small sapphire bandeau worn by Princess Margaret)

From Suzy Menkes page 53 : (My older pos

'The Empress Marie's superb sapphires - two tiaras, a brooch and pearl chocker were inherited by the Queen. Princess Michael of Kent has a large diamond brooch, the Gloucesters a tiara and Princess Margaret a sapphire".

Theses two tiaras might be the two mysterious tiaras owned by the Queen and not worn (Field). Perhaps on of theses two tiaras is the one owned by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Do you why tiaras can it be ?
