Oh Francisco, I was talking about Princess Marina of Kent beautiful earrings, described in Ursula's page. Both earrings (Miss Taylor's and Princess Marina's) are indeed stunning in my opinion, and would make any lady who wears them look fabulous. --Previous Message-- : Elizabeth Taylor says in her book "My : Love Affair with Jewelry", page 43, : that she bought the original of this : earrings in paste while in Paris. Back in : New York her then husband Mike Todd ordered : to copy them in real diamonds. : : : : --Previous Message-- : Thanks! My guess is probably they do have : russian origin. : : : : : --Previous Message-- : URSULA site : : : : : http://www.royal-magazin.de/england/kent/kent-girandolen.htm : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you Tamara. I really love these : earrings, a pity they are no longer in the : family. : : The caption says 1850, are they of russian : origin? Could they have been a gift to : Princess Helena from her russian relatives? : I know nothing of their provenance. : : Thank you for any information : : : : --Previous Message-- : Interesting find Ayvee I have a feeling : they : were borrowed too...from whom? well, : eventually it will come out : : As far as Princess Marina of Kent earrings, : they were purchased by S.J. Phillips for : $200,000. dollars and now they are asking : double...so I am not surprised that its : still on their website. : : She only wore them the way we see on this : picture..but just by looking at the closeup : of the earrings, I can already create 6 : pairs of different style earrings...and : pendants and brooch...it could be a very : versatile piece. : : : : : : : : : http://www.sjphillips.com/Pair-antique-diamond-triple-drop-earrings-1850-the-cluster-drops-below-openwork-diamond-scroll-cartouche-below-cushion-diamond-cluster-tops-DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=6&tabindex=5&objectid=221081&categoryid=2048 : : : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you Ayvee. I've always loved this type : of classical earrings, so grand and elegant. : Princess Marina of Kent owned a pair of : chandelier earrings also, sadly I believe : they have been sold years ago, they looked : stunning on her. : : I am not sure if Miss McPherson would buy : these pieces, she seems to be more of a : sports lady than a jewelry collector. So I'm : betting these earrings have been loaned, : most likely by some well known jeweler : house. : : : : --Previous Message-- : : : These diamond chandelier earrings sold for : $374,500... : : : : : : : : http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/the-mike-todd-diamond-ear-pendants/5507884/lot/lot_details.aspx?from=searchresults&intObjectID=5507884&sid=be74d56b-9b37-4dae-b4f2-1db1367c016a : : ...is worn by Elle McPherson : : at the National Television Awards. : : Article and photo from Red Carpet Fashion : Award: : : : : : : : http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2012/01/26/elle-macpherson-in-tom-ford-2012-national-television-awards/#comment-605760 : : I wonder if she is now the new owner of : these beautiful earrings or if it's loaned : to her by a jeweler.
