How did the Greek jewels get out of Greece?Archived Message

King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie have often commented that they left Greece in 1967 with only a small suitcase (each?) and the clothes on their back. Does anyone know how the jewels currently in the possession of the Greek Royal Family left Greece? Were they packed in that suitcase? Were they restored to the Royal Family by the Greek government after the downfall of the monarchy? Were they spirited out of Greece in advance of the coup?
