That was a loaner? Funny, because it was displayed here in NYC at Sotheby's a few years ago as part of the Princess Grace exhibit as if it were hers. Yes, can be converted to necklace and unless I am not remembering correctly that is how it was displayed at the exhibit. The diamonds seemed to be of the finest clarity, which was a big difference from the Cartier pearl drop tiara owned by Princess Charlotte and occasionally worn by The Princess of Hanover. Some of those stones seemed a bit foggy to my eye.
