Very interesting thread you started Nellie.
After reading all I realized that the 3 Consort Queens wore different Coronation Tiaras:
Queen Alexandra’s Coronation tiara (1902) with the Rundell tiara’s diamonds Queen Mary did not like Queen Alexandra’s Coronation tiara and wore a new Coronation tiara (1910) she wore again for her Son Georges VI unexpected Coronation Queen Elisabeth (Queen MUM) wore a new Coronation tiara as Queen Mary kept hers with (Queen Victoria’s diamonds). She wore this tiara again for her Daughter Elisabeth II ’s Coronation.
Please Correct is this is wrong. Thanks Maria Olivia
--Previous Message-- : The diamond diadem, of course, goes back to : the early 19th century. This is the first : time I've known that Queen Alexandra worked : on it. What did she have done? : : By the way, I think it would have been very : expensive to copy the elaborate diamond : diadem, which is worn by the current queen : on official occasions and is today almost : part of the crown jewels. The less grand : regal circlet also went to the next queen, : but it was a more private piece. : :
