Queen Charlotte told Miss Burney (her woman of the bedchamber) in 1786

"...We have Protestant nunneries in Germany. I belonged to one which was under Imperial protection; there is one for royal families-
    one for the noblesse"

She was "Sophie Charlotte P.v.M. Chanoinesse de l'abbaye libre Imperiale de Hervorden"

I believe one of the daughters of the Winter Queen, Elizabeth of Bohemia also joined this convent.

Elizabeth, daughter of Frederick the Elector Palatine (King of Bohemia, where the Czech republic now lies) and Elizabeth Stuart (daughter of James I of England)

"The convent was that of Herford in Westphalia, reformed during the 16th century and prominent among foundations of its kind until its secularization in 1803. Princess Sophie Charlotte and Princess Christiane (her sister) had both been invested as Canonesses of Herford on 7 March 1760....."
