The collar of the Royal Victorian order is not often worn, but I have seen it at least once:

In June 2002, there was a Golden jubilee Service of Thanksgiving in St. Paulīs Cathedral. It was a day-event, but also a collar day. Many of the senior courtiers who have received the GCVO wore their collars.

I cannot find any close-ups of courtiers, sadly. The men you see in this picture appear to wear the Garter collar (which would also explain their seating directly behind the sovereign)

Perhaps this yearīs service will also be a collar day and give us another opportunity to spot the Victorian Order collar

: Thanks Baxter. The Royal Victorian Chain has
: always been confusing I have found. I do
: have that pic labeled as chain and must make
    : better notes this time.

: Princess Margaret was wearing the Royal
: Victorian Chain, which is unrelated to the
    : Royal Victorian Order.

: Since royal ladies don't generally observe
: collar days (of which today, Easter Sunday,
: is one) we probably won't see the Duchess of
: Cornwall wearing the collar. However, HRH
: will now have a sash to wear at gala events,
: as seen below on the Countess of Wessex at
    : the Swedish Royal Wedding.
