    Yes.

In the past when it is the Coronation of a King, the King arrives at the Abbey wearing a cap of maintenance and his Queen Consort arrives bareheaded.

When a Sovereign Queen is crowned, (both Victoria and Elizabeth II) have arrived at the Abbey wearing the Diamond Diadem.

The only exception to this has been George IV who arrived at the Abbey wearing a large "Spanish" hat, and the Diamond Diadem.

There is a photograph somewhere of Edward VII wearing the cap of maintenance for his coronation; however I never saved it and have been unable to find it online.

: My question is what is The King wearing on
    : his head?
: Might it be a Cap of Maintenance?
