I just wanted to make a comment here about a great discovery I made. I have no commercial connection at all, this is just a recommendation from one bibliophile to others.
Wanting to protect my adored new "Queen's Diamonds" I searched the internet for a way of covering it and found Ryco Just-a-role. It came today and I have excitedly covered my most precious big books. It is a removable sleeve, fits the size of your book, does not damage or mark the original dust jacket and I LOVE it!! I bought a roll big enough to fit the largest one and it's easy to adjust for smaller sizes - they even have a demo video online to show you how to use it.
In a matter of minutes I'd protected half a dozen of my very best treasures!
Years ago I used to use self-stick clear film, but of course that is not removable and I'd never use it nowadays.
