In the eighties and nineties Infanta Maria del Pilar, HM the King Juan Carlos I's sister, wore quite often an impressive sapphires & diamonds necklace. Together she wore a pair of earrings which were not really part of a parure, I think.
According to the book "Las joyas de las Reinas de España" by F. Rayon and J.L. Sampedro, the sapphires come by inheritance from the Duke of Montpensier, a branch of the French RF.
Afterwards, Infanta Maria Pilar stopped wearing those jewels, but I think she suffered a burglary at her home, and this must be the reason of the disappearance of the sapphires. She also owned nice pearls, which have disappeared too. Here are a couple of photos of the sapphire necklace, while the small sapphires & diamonds diadem, I think is still in her possession.
Here are the pearls which apparently have disappeared too.
