    The question about the true original provenance of the cameo tiara remains something of a riddle as there were so many tiaras with similar cameo designs in the Bonaparte family alone.

    I do not believe that Elisa Bonaparte’s tiara is actually the one now in Sweden as the overall design is quite different in detail and seems to include dark colored cabochon stones above the base, but why not illustrate the matter again.
    The tiara which comes closest remains the one of Queen Hortense, as the cameos apparently match, and so do the motifs of the design, although it looks in the miniature below like it was set with less pearls back then - the same golden frame, but almost empty.
    As for Empress Joséphine, so far no depiction of her wearing a tiara to match to the Bernadotte tiara has ever been found; she owned at least two cameo tiaras and a cameo bandeau.
