This chocker was certainly a wedding gift to Queen Mary in 1893, although it is not clear from who. As Duchess of York, she was photographed wearing it as early as 1894.
It was also divisible into two bracelets, as she wore to the Devonshire House Ball in 1897.
The chocker worn by her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Teck, it is not clear whether or not this was the same piece loaned by Queen Mary, or she owned her own piece in the same style (it was after all a popular style).
It should be noted also that Princess Marie-Louise owned two bracelets in a similar honeycomb style, although it is not clear whether or not these bracelets joined to make a similar styled chocker.
Field reports that one of these bracelets was left to The Queen by Princess Marie-Louise; although I have always thought that perhaps the bracelet the Queen was pictured wearing was one from Queen Mary's chocker, which undoubtedly was bequeathed to the Queen in 1953; if not and Princess Marie-Louise did indeed leave the Queen one of her bracelets, it is likely that she was left both of them, however she has only ever worn one at a time.
Yet another example of how vast The Queen's jewellery collection is, and how much more research is needed on the vast array of pieces are her disposal.
