    Thanks, Nellie and Boffer.

    I looked at that panel in your post and found that this Hyderabad Bandeau has to be the tiara Queen Elizabeth II had worn in those pictures (one is a zoomed-up portion of another).

    (source: "Princess Elizabeth, Wife and Mother: A Souvenir of the Birth of Prince Charles of Edinburgh" [unknown date; but probably 1949] in my collection).

    The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were in Paris outside the Opera House in May of 1948. So Princess Elizabeth would have been pregnant with Prince Charles here in the picture.
