--Previous Message-- : : As footnote, I searched getty for some : images. : Getty gives 01 Jan 1905 as "Date : created" for the first image below. : 1905 cannot be relied on as the year because : of the Cullinans. : Also, getty use "01 Jan" when they : cannot be more precise with a date. : : The two images could still be from the one : occasion. My research is continuing. : I compared Queen Alexandra on KatMax' picture with the one I linked from the Royal Collection (these are the same as you, Nellie, posted from GettyImages). To see them side by side convinces me entirely, that they were from the same occasion. Royal Collecions (whose captions seem to be more reliable) says, that the portrait was from Opening of Parliament in 1902. Looking at The Queen's jewels, this year is definitely wrong (Collier Résille & the Cullinans). It must be 1909 since HM is not in mourning. And now the comparison of the pics: 1 The Orb of her crown are on the perfect same place (against the wall) in both portraits 2&3 The same brooches, worn on the same place 4 The same Pearl Sautoir whose tassels are on the very same place in both pictures 5&6 The folds of HM's train are absolutely identical And (without pointing) more, the queen's coiffure is 100% identical
