...And here it is Archived Message

Thank you Monica. I googled for Pss Ragnhild to see what I could find, and found confirmation pictures in this site. Hope its allright to place the link here. Just scroll down, lots of lovely big pictures.

Lovely pictures of Pss Ragnhild confirmation in 1947 (and other royals). She is wearing the "Norway's Ragnhilds" gift cross that Monica posted. It has a very large size, lovely indeed.

: She wore it for her confirmation. The only
: time I think. She has said she would leave
: it to her daughter Ranghild.

: Monica thank you so much! Where do you get
    : these treasures!?
    :
: Totally new to me. A precious and timeless
: piece, lovely. It has some kind of medieval
: look to it, I think. I will have to dig in
: my archives and see if I can find any
: picture of the princess wearing it. I
: confess that most of the times the glitter
: of major pieces "blinds" me a bit
: and I tend to overlook smaller pieces that
: often are so interesting and beautiful.
    :
: On the pictures Boris posted I spotted some
: other interesting pieces, amongs them: a
: diamond swirl brooch with a hanging long
: pearl, a nice large diamond bracelet, a
: diamond riviére, and a "green
: stones" necklace (could they be
    : emeralds?).
    :
: I don't know if any has historical
: provenance. Any info on if they are the Pss
: private property, perhaps some are gifts
: from her very wealthy husband? Thanks.

: Here’s the link to the detailed biographical
: overview posted today by Trond N. Isaksen on
: the occasion of Princess Ragnhild’s death,
: indeed knowledgeable and fascinating to read

: Thank you very much Stefan. So glad to know
    : that!
    :
: There's the importance of a reliable source,
: I've read sometime ago (don't remember where
: exactly) that Queen Maud had left the
: diamond tiara to her eldest grandaughter
: (and the turquoises to Pss Astrid).
: I am very glad to know that those historical
: pieces will go back to the main line.

: According to Trond's blog the Jewels of
    : Queen
: Maud where not left by her tone ynone. After
: the Wedding of King Harald and Sonja they
: where shared among the 3 siblings. and
: apparently they are only on loan for life to
: Princesses Astrid and Ragnhild and those
: will gio back to the crown.

: Apart from Queen Maud's diamond tiara (see
    : my
: first post on this thread for the Pss
: wearing it), that was a wedding gift to the
: then Pss Maud of Wales, Pss Ragnhild also
: wore the Boucheron tiara from Pss Ingeborg.
: So she received a tiara from each of her
    : grandmothers.

: I do not wish to be rude at this point as to
: inquire what will happen to this pieces,
: after all the princess isn't eaven
: burried... But I am of course very curious
: as if they will return to the royal family,
: or if the king would buy them back in case
: the Pss descend decides to sell it (not that
: I think they would need any cash flow, as
: far as I know they are very wealthy).
: At least Queen Maud's diamond tiara should
: return to the main line, it is an historical
: piece, a favourite of the first consort
: queen of the present dinasty.
: On the other hand Queen Maud left ir to her
: beloved oldest granddaughter, so perhaps she
: wanted it to go to Pss Ragnhild's descend...
: I will continue to follow Trond's blog, and
: wait for some acurate information on this
    : matter.

: She had, at least, two diadems if I'm not

: Mr Erling Sven Lorentzen himself did not
    : score
: high in the royal or noble deparment, so the
: Princess had little ground for complaining.
    :
: Of course Mr Lorentzen (from Øivind
: Lorentzen Rederi) or Mr Ferner (from Ferner
: Jacobsen AS) were from a total different
: category as Ari and Mette-Marit, moneywise.
    :
: I have never seen Princess Ragnhilds as a
: very glamorous or jewel-loving lady anyway.
: Her collection will not be thát large, I
    : expect.
