I was surprised about the dress-code for the state banquet in Singapore, and the official banquet in Malaysia, not common for royal visits to these countries. Sadly, I suspect it might have been the wish of the British court - ie the Cambridge couple themselves.

The Duchess hardly wore any jewels at all during the trip, mostly small earrings and her engagement ring.

For the Malaysia banquet, she wore gold leaf earrings and a matching bracelet (said to have been made by jeweller Catherine Zoraida), but contrary to her hosts no necklace.

It appears the Duchess is not fond of grand jewellery, though this is merely my own observation. I can only recall her wearing a large necklace once (in Dec 2011), and she has not worn any substantial family heirlooms except the Maple Leaf diamond brooch in Canada.
