I think this is the original and the stories of the past were plain wrong. Possibly Menkes or Field, but I need to check tomorrow. A bit late at night for me now.
Errors by those authors were never officially corrected anywhere, in the past, to my knowledge. It seems only since the growth of interest in the jewels on boards like this that royal establishments now include jewellery details in media releases.
--Previous Message-- : Looks so amazingly simalar that I think it is : the same piece. : Maybe the information that it was dismantled : was false from the beginning and no-one at : court bothered correcting it. Or they kept : the frame intact with the aquamarines being : detachable. : Anyway, I'm thrilled to see it Sophie. : : --Previous Message-- : : Hope this works!! Trying another hosting. : : online photo storage : : : --Previous Message-- : : I agree! I wish I could get my photobucket : to work! : : : --Previous Message-- : The way I see it, the tiara only had five : elements when the Queen wore it. So it was : the same size as the one worn by Sophie. : It's still a big mystery to me. : : : : : : :
