The beads on top of the 'new' Bernadotte tiara definitely appear to have a darker shade than the other parts, and looking at the backside of the haircomb, Tamara's theory of shadow and light alone might not hold up as the only reason. Still, I don't exactly see onyx here either... could it be the 'beads' are made of steel as well but were simply treated seperately and differently, or that they have a different alloy / coating in order to make them stand out more? --Previous Message-- : If you look closely, you can see metal behind : these faceted black pieces that is the same : color as the tiara itself.
