Indeed, Princess Madeleine de Bourbon de Parme née de Bourbon-Busset was the daughter of Georges de Bourbon-Busset, Vicomte de Busset, Comte de Lignières. It is believed she designated the castle to her youngest son, in her eyes "the standardbearer of true Carlism" since she disapproved the "socialist" path Carlos-Hugo had taken with the Carlist movement. The family De Bourbon-Busset had (has) quite a couple of domains and castles. Four estates derive from the Bourbon-Busset branch and are still occupied: - the Château de Busset (in use as a hotel to gain revenue) - the Château de Saussay (in use by Charles de Bourbon-Busset, Vicomte de Busset, Comte de Lignières) - the Château de Vésigneux (in use by Philippe de Bourbon de Châlus, Comte de Châlus) - the Château de Lignières (in use by Prince Sixte-Henri de Bourbon de Parme) Château de Busset (in the Bourbonnais, the Auvergne) Central house Château de Saussay (Ile-de-France) Château de Vésigneux (in the Nièvre, the Bourgogne) Château de Lignières (in the Cher, central France)
