Such an elegant and happy bride! That Boticelli like dress was pure beauty...
I recently saw a documentary on royal bridesmaids, in BBC I think. In it India Hicks talkes with her mother Lady Pamela Mountbatten about how they were both royal bridesmaids. Lady Pamela remembers the incident when the bridal tiara was being placed on Pss Elizabeth's head, and sudentlly the tiara snaps in two... according to Lady Pamela, the Queen mother said "we have plenty tiaras" and it was decided to get another tiara...
Well, the story I've always heard was that indeed the bridal tiara snaps, and the royal jeweler is summond in urgency to repair it. And in the pictures the tiara (Queen Mary's 1919 fringe tiara) doesn't seem to be very simetrical...
Has anyone else heard this interview with Lady Pamela? Was there a second option for bridal tiara like she claims? We seem to have contadictory reports on the events of that day.
