Once the worldfamous photographer Erwin Olaf was guest in the program Zomergasten (Summer Guests). In that program (lasting 3-4 hours) guests can assemble their own TV-evening, using fragments, anecdotes and it ends with a film chosen by the guest.
In that program Erwin Olaf showed his irritation with how the royal family was portrayed. In his option it was too "kneuterig" (cosy, smalltown Dutch) while the royal family should show grandeur. As a photographer he knows the power of images and he eh.... advised the Prince of Orange to loose some weight, to have his teeth bleached. He did not want to make a model of him, but he is the future King and Erwin Olaf thought his image could be better: sharper tailored suits, maybe grow a little beard, a more masculine, royal look. He named the Mario Testino photograph as a very good example. In his option the royal family should frame itself more in this sort of glamour.
After these words I thought: that guy will never be invited by the Oranges. So it was a nice surprise that the Princess was willing to cooperate with Erwin Olaf indeed.
