It is impossible to say the provenance of the large Sapphire brooch worn by Queen Mary. There have been many guesses and comparisons, however as no official research has been carried out or information released on it, it is all just guesses until sources are revealed. There have been many stories including that it was bought from the estate of Empress Marie Feodrovna, that it was bought from French Crown Jewels. But as I say, no proof that any of these stories are facts. Thus I await any future references or publications. If only I had the time, resources, or publishing deal to carry out my own research & gain access to the Royal Archives & QM's Inventories. --Previous Message-- : : Thank you Boffer.
