--Previous Message-- : By the way, ladies it is a very American thing : totaly-not-to-drink during pregnancy. : Most pregnant European woman will probarbly : cut down and ofcourse would never drink : exessively during a pregnancy. : But I am under the impression that most : pregnant woman here (Europe) refrain from : drinking alcohol all together only for the : last months of pregnancy. : AFAIK, drinking during the first weeks/month of pregnancy is much more dangerous for the unborn than having a glass of wine in the last stage... I know, that women here in Europe sometimes drink during pregnancy (there are also some who continue smoking ), but all my friends stopped drinking alcohol after they knew they're expecting and continued to do so during the time they breastfed their little ones. But there are actually cultural differences (even in Europe) in handling alcohol and pregnancies .
