This is a great find. It is always so nice to be able to put a "face to a name" as it were - to be able to see the jewel that we have previously only read about. It is clear why Her Majesty has never worn this in person - it's appearance doesn't quite fit with the image she has created for herself as Queen, in terms of the jewellery she wears. Nevertheless a very pretty piece, and significant in terms of the history of jewellery. Thank you for finding this for us Veronika. --Previous Message-- : Video of the Revivalist Jewellery Exhibition : in 1984: : : http://www.itnsource.com/en/shotlist//ITN/1984/03/13/AS130384003/?s=necklace&st=0&pn=1 : : Leslie Field, 'The Queen's Jewels' page 147: : 'The Queen has another necklace that she : wears only on private occasions.
