There is a pic of Mary by Cecil Beaton circa 1937 wearing the emerald tiara and necklace plus a huge rivere and the belt reproduced in Diana Scarisbricks Ancestral Jewels....Another of the tiaras was turqouise while a third was the diamond wreath worn by Mollies daughter-in-law Jane on her wedding day.The Buccleuch family were vastly wealthy and still own a fairytale castle,3 large houses over a quarter of a million acres and a superlative art collection which includes a exqusite Rembrandt and a breathtaking Leonardo Madonna

: Terrific, many thanks for the information,
: Ashdean. Do you have any photos of the
: emerald tiara or the other tiara being worn
: as a belt? I've seen a photo of the
: impressive peridot tiara of Archduchess
: Isabelle of Austria, Nee Croy, being worn as
: a belt, and it seems pretty rare apart from
: that photo of Queen Alexandra using the
    : fringe tiara as one.
    : Cheers, Cerys.

: Lovely portrait of Duchess Mary Buccleuch,
    : by
: her sister-in-law, Molly Bishop (Lady George
: Scott), wearing a very impressive tiara.
: Does anyone know if this is one of the five
: tiaras she had to chose from at the
: Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II?
