Joye, thank you very much for posting those pictures of Victoria, Princess Royal, as Crownprincess of Prussia. The first and second ones are new to me. I agree with you, jinja, that only the second one is a tiara. But I donīt think itīs a snowflake design, I suppose itīs a kind of flower wreath. Regrettably, pictures of the queens (or empresses) and princesses of prussia in full jewellery a quite rare. Although etiquette was very important to her I havenīt found any picture of the full bejewelled Queen, later Empress Augusta. Some poor pictures with pearls or the prussian diamond tiara. Probably some of her jewels had moved to Baden and than to Schweden and Denmark. Of Victoria, Kaiserin Friedrich, there some more (Laszlo Portait, Coronation photograph Wilhelm I.), but not nearly enough to get an overview of her wedding gifts and the inheritance she got from Queen Elisabeth of Prussia. Viktoria Auguste, wife of Wilhelm II., is portrayed serveral times, as painting and photograph. I found always the same pictures, with prussian diamond diadem, with emerald wreath tiara (parts still existing), with large swallow (?) diamond tiara and the trefoil tiara. There must have been a lots more. To say with Cato, furthermore, I consider that the prussian topic must be worked on. --Previous Message-- : I think only the second picture shows a tiara. : Where have we seen that snowflake type : pattern recently? : : The first headpiece looks like fresh flowers : and a strand of pearls. The third is a : diamond riviere. The fourth appears to be : more flowers, maybe on a jeweled velvet : band. :
