With gold also matches the golden "crown" which was given in 2002. The Investiture is the only event that this weird headgear can have a purpose. For banquets and balls this piece is not suitable.

As I am on phone now, I can not add a picture too easily but many will remember the "Princess Leia"-sort attribute which wss surprisingly chosen in a public contest. Like the King's Song (#1 in the charts) this shows the eh.... taste of the grneral Dutch public. Apparently.

    :-)

: Pearls and/or diamonds, I would say. My guess
: is still the "thickstone" necklace
: converted to a tiara and mounted on a
: rivière of small diamonds. It is both new
: and historic by using 17th century house
: diamonds. At the same time it is rather
: modest but no doubt worn with great effect
    : with the right hairdo.

: Marc van der Linden, royalty reporter,
    : stated
: tonight on RTL tv that he had heard from
: close to the court that Maxima will wear
: "something in gold and yellow". If
: this is correct, what jewelry would match?
