Thank you Boris. It seems to me that the fabulous swedish collection lacks a nice pair of earrings in classical style to be worn with CP Margaretha's rubi tiara/necklace or with the rubi brooch/pendant. The Queen has the Brunei rubi set but its style is unwearable with this older pieces... I think HM favours emeralds above all other gems, as she has several more modern sets. Perhaps rubis are not to the Queens taste, altough I think she looks lovely wearing them.
--Previous Message-- : The earrings worn with the ruby tiara/necklace : are these contemporary ones in rubies and : diamonds – Queen Silvia has had them for : about five years: : : : : The tiara, high and not wide, is indeed : difficult to wear, and works IMHO best with : an elaborate updo in a fullness which : balances the tiara's height: : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you Boris! HM looks wonderful. : I've always thought that this piece looks so : much better as a necklace. It looks regal : and very elegant. : As a tiara I think it lacks at least 2 more : elements to make it balanced, because it : appears too high and narrow on the Queen's : head, too much only in front and no sides to : balance. A wooper and "wall like" : tiara. But I must say I like its romantic : and victorian design very much. : : Any idea on what earrings is HM wearing : please? They are a bit hidden by her hair, I : don't seem to recognize them. : : : : : --Previous Message-- : For the first time since 1988, Queen Silvia : has worn the ruby tiara which was a gift : from King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra to : Princess Margaret of Connaught upon her : wedding to Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of : Sweden, as necklace last night in : Wilmington, Delaware, USA: : : : : : : : : :
