The Royal House has quite changed since the Investiture, only Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien could attend but this week both Countess Leonore and Countess Eloïse (on the same day as the wedding) have their birthday. That there is flexibility is proven by the unexpected attendance of Prince Constantijn at the funeral of Prince Mortiz, Landgraf von Hessen, a few days ago. The King: outranks the bride The Queen: outranks the bride Princess Beatrix: attends a Bilderberg Conference The Princess of Orange: too young Princess Alexia: too young Princess Ariane: too young Prince Constantijn: birthday of his two daughters Princess Laurentien: birthday of her two daughters Countess Eloïse: too young Count Claus-Casimir: too young Countess Leonore: too young Then there are two more members of the Royal House: Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven. They could have attend but seeing their agenda, have slowed down since the Abdication. By the way: what is the relationship of this couple, both in their 70's, to the young Princess Madeleine and her beau Christopher O'Neill? The other members of the royal family (the De Bourbon de Parmes, the Van Vollenhovens, the Guillermos) do not belong to the Royal House and apparently the King has not requested them for representation. Maybe a clear choice to mark the new situation? Spain is also not represented, neither is Belgium. That is surprising as Philippe, Astrid and Laurent have a Swedish grandmother (Princess Astrid of Sweden) but Philippe is already twice the age of Madeleine, so maybe there is no any personal link with the bride? There remains more than enough glitter anyway. I am particulary curious to learn the jewels of the Countess Natascha Abensperg und Traun, the groom's halfsister.....
