I don't think, that the dress-change was due a mishap during the dinner. If so, then there would have been no need to change the hairdo. No, this was a planned action.
It was most likely that the princess wanted to move more easily while the following party (and without her two trainbearers - who looked quite ridiculous IMO). Methinks, that it was done at a time, the elder guest had retired and the younger generation let it rip with dancing all night long . With the amount of fabric and the non detachable train of the bridal-gown was it nearly impossible for the bride to move and dance.
And HRH looked adorable and every inch a bride in that lovely Nina Ricci gown (particularly with the bow, which her mother didn't wore at the Nobel festivities)
: Also maybe, maybe, Charlene's jewel cassette : was forgotten and discovered unshipped too : late to get to be worn. She seemed so sad. I : want to believe she was missing the bling : she knew she was expected to show. :
After their own wedding festivities, where The Princess spotted her lovely diamond aigrette, the huge waved necklace and on an event shortly after the Ocean necklace/tiara (worn as necklace), HSH has very, very rarely worn jewels. I guess, she does not care for jewels (hardly understandable for us jewel-addicts on this board ). I noticed, that she even didn't wore her engagement ring. The only 'jewellery' HSH always wears is her wedding ring. And it was not the first time, The Princess appeared 'non-bejewelled'. I actually have to admit, that I find it rather courageous and that I respect her for that - she swims against the tide . She obviously seems not to feel at ease with jewels, so she doesn't wear them - there is actually no obligation for jewels.
But I'd say - if I had her jewel casket at my disposal....oooooh particularly the spray-aigrette would have an airing on every possible occasion .
And I don't believe, Princess Charlène was sad, maybe she looked sad in the same way, HM Queen Elizabeth II often looks grumpy - when being concentrated or simply relaxed . I'm convinced that this is the expression of her face when not smiling...
