Looking more closely, there are five diamonds on the bottom row and ten above that, with some lacking drops.
It looks to me as though the original might have had longer drops in between the four large diamond drops. The pill shapes appear to have their loops at the back of the point. The central drop, which is the smallest, and not the usual habit, might have been something else altogether.
I really want to know more about this piece. It might have been an ornament for a man's headdress.
