    I know the book it is from but cannot lay my hands on it right now.
    Half my books are in a muddle because I have not put them back in their right places - left in stacks on a desk and on the floor!
    I think the title is Elizabeth II, which is not very helpful.

    Edit: the book is Elizabeth R by Antony Jay and first published in 1992 in Australia.
    It deals with events in the fortieth year of the reign.
