    Hi Nellie

Thanks for posting the pictures. Is this the same clasp as seen on the triple-strand of pearls that Camilla now wears which came from the Queen Mother? The clasp looks 1920's - 1930's to me. I wonder what war era pictures are out there showing a triple-strand.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if they were the pearls that Mrs Greville gave the Queen as Mrs Greville was the godmother of Sonia Keppel, Camilla's grandmother?

According to the author, Camilla's engagement ring was remodelled from a ring from the Greville bequest.

    Laura

: I have just finished reading Mrs Ronnie: the
: society hostess who collected kings by Sian
: Evans published by the National Trust. A
: fascinating insight into the life of a great
: society hostess who came from a humble
: background. Her friendships with the British
: Royal family, Queen Ena of Spain and various
    : Indian princes are discussed.

: According to the author, in 1936 Mrs
: Greville gave Queen Elizabeth "a
: magnificent three-strand set of pearls,
: which she wore extensively throughout the
: war and afterwards....". It makes me
: look at pictures of Queen Elizabeth from
